OUR CHURCH HISTORY

1918

Bishop G.B. Rowe

In the year of 1918, the late Bishop G.B. Rowe and his wife founded the Midway Gospel Tabernacle, now known as the Apostolic Temple Church, Inc.

It was he and his wife, with the call of God, and their pioneering spirit, that set things in motion. It was by his ministry that thousands have been saved.

1958

In 1946, his two sons were ordained to the ministry of the Lord, and previously had served as elders.
The transfer of responsible pastorship fell to Worthy G. Rowe, and to Assistant Pastor, David L. Rowe, in the year of 1958.

These pastors, along with their wives, continued the leadership and divine will of God in making this a most successful institution.

1985

In 1985, the transfer of responsibility fell to Bishop W.G. Rowe’s twin sons. Pastor Peter D. Rowe and Assistant Pastor Paul T. Rowe, with their wives, will guide the Apostolic Temple Village, Inc. (Peace Manor and the Apostolic Temple Youth Center), and other departments to reach the prime objective; that of readiness – as Jesus said, “Be ye therefore ready also: for the son of man cometh at an hour which you think not.” – Luke 12:40.

2011

In July 2011, Bishop Peter Rowe ordained his son Chris as Pastor.  Pastor Chris and his wife Sis. Cortenay are working together to move the Apostolic Temple Church forward.

In February 2011, the Lord impressed on Pastor Chris’ heart, Dare to Dream. Dare to Dream means having the courage to pursue the ministry/dream that God has placed in your heart. We believe in doing this, it will enlarge the borders of the church and help us collectively meet the needs of our society. Growing diverse ministries, with Jesus Christ at the heart, will help us to reach our families, neighbors, co-workers, friends, and everyone we contact. 1 Corinthians 12:18- But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
